Tamil Actress Shalini Ajith Kumar’s father Babu is a Malayali from Kollam while her mother Alice is a Chennai-born Malayali. Her father aspired to become an actor. He realised his dream through his children- for not only Shalini all his children have taken to acting.
Shalini entered the cine world at the age of three and went on to act in 51 films, 39 films as a child artiste. She had acted in all the films of popular director Fazil, Incidentally, in her second film she acted with the legendary Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan in a Kannada film as a child artiste.
Tamil actress Shalini Ajith Kumar had also acted in a Tamil serial Amloo in the late 80’s for Doordarshan. After a break she made a reentry with a bang in the Tinsel world.
It was again director Fazil who had given her a break as a heroine in the film Aniyathi Pravu which was a blockbuster in the year 1997, The press had hailed her re-entry as one of the best and paid rich tributes to her acting skills. For the Tamil version of this movie director Fazil originally wanted to cast a new face but Shalini insisted that she be given the role in the Tamil remake too. Finally she won and she acted in its Tamil remake Kaathalukku Mariyathai opposite Ilaya Thalapathi , Vijay.This was a super duper hit and she had launched her reentry in to the Tamil Film Industry perfectly.Her first film as a heroine in Tamil was with Ilaya Thalapathi and her second Tamil film as a heroine was with Thala.
Popular Tamil Director Saran wanted to cast her in his film Amarkalam as a heroine opposite Ajith, Initially, she had refused the offer as she had to pursue her studies. However, after three months of persuasion, she gave in and accepted the offer to act with her future husband to be Thala Ajith.The film was such a success that the director made another film with the same hero-heroine combination in the film Kannukul Nilavu.
It was during the shooting of the film Amarkalam Thala Ajith dated Shalini, proposed to her in June 1999 and married her in April 2000., The wedding was conducted in a grand manner in both Hindu as well as Christian traditions. After the marriage she stopped acting of course only after finishing all her commitments that she had given before her marriage, Now she is enjoying Marital Bliss and as a result, is blessed with two children, Currently, she is believed to be contributing to the success of the Ultimate star AjithKumar,
