Interesting Facts of Nitya Menon

Nithya a Malayali ( Her father hails from Calicut while her mother from Palghat )  aspired to be a journalist and hence pursued Journalism. In fact in one of her earlier interviews she had mentioned that she would never become an actress.She thought of herself as an idealist, Later she realised that journalism was not as it was in those days. She felt that she could best express her thoughts and ideas through films and hence she did her Cinematography  in Pune film institute with the goal of becoming a film maker.

Her meeting up with Nandni Reddy happened to be a turning point in her life for it was Nandini who had convinced her to take up to acting and thus had arrived a chubby, charming actress Nitya Menon. Nandini Reddy became a director and signed her up as the female lead for her very first film itself.

Nithya had earlier on been introduced as the Child artiste in the Indian English Film - The monkey who knew too much ( Hanuman ) .She had played the younger sister of Tabu's character.

While she was still in 12th standard she was offered a lead  role in the off-beat Malyalam film AAkasha Tamarai which was directed by the National award winning film director K.P.Kumaran opposite Superstar  Mohanlal, who happened to see her photo in the front cover of a popular Tourism magazine and  recommended her as the heroine for the film .

 Nithya Menon had made her debut in Kannada with the movie 7'O clock.

Her debut in Telugu Films  was described as the best after Samanta and  she was acclaimed as the most charming find. She was  first eulogised as the sparkle in her debut venture and later hailed as the discovery of the decade.
